History

CanVote Inc. is an Ontario owned and operated information technology company.

CanVote was founded by its President Joe Church, BASc, MASc, P Eng. Mr. Church has
founded and managed several information technology companies including CanVote, some of them in cooperation with major partners including: Goldman Sachs, Providence Ventures, Brascan and AT&T Wireless. These entrepreneurial business developments were based on Mr. Church's extensive career in senior management in major Canadian corporations. This included serving as Vice President of Rogers Wireless (then Cantel) during the startup of cellular telecommunications in Canada and Vice President of Bell Canada International, responsible for worldwide marketing and operations.

CanVote developed its internet and telephone voting technology initially to meet the voting needs of municipalities for the 2003 Ontario municipal elections. CanVote successfully provided comprehensive internet and telephone voting services to 11 Ontario municipalities for their 2003 municipal and school board elections. In addition to municipal elections, CanVote has provided internet and/or telephone voting for union and university elections.

CanVote has developed its system based on state of the art software, hardware, telecommunications and database technologies. CanVote continues to develop its
capabilities in response to evolving customer needs and its experience in providing
voting services to a range of clients.
